I am starting to wonder if some of the adults in the Maru scenes worked at the facility if it truly is in the past.

And don’t get me wrong, I can feel you, that’s exactly what I experienced the first time, I wondered for some "side stories" and characters, there’re weaker moments that seem have little to do with the plot for the time, which will be justified later. And that’s what makes this show special and intriguing, imo.

2023-05-10 00:33:33 +0000 UTCI'm just saying it felt unnecessary. I'm not a source material reader. Some of it didn't feel needed and some of it did, but that can be said about everything. It just felt to me like most of it didn't matter to the overarching plot. I'm not saying you're wrong. I'm just stating how I felt while watching it. It was definitely the weakest episode for me.

2023-05-10 00:17:12 +0000 UTCThere’s not a single unnecessary information in this show, they way the author put the foreshadowings and hints is quite seamless. We are still at very early stage of the story, what I can say is the storytelling is thoroughly calculated, I constantly understand something only in 30 chapters later and go back checking the foreshadowing and get goosebumps. Like I told you last time, the big twist in this episode was the fact that Tokio was girl, interesting enough, from what I saw, Western audiences usually identify her at the beginning while Asian people thought she was a boy as the narration intended. Btw, for what I comment on the series, I try to not include any spoiler, just necessary clarifications and my thoughts when I first read the manga.
