My DREAM Species to Work With: Meet Boo the Cockatoo!

If you missed part one of my project bird update, go watch it here to get caught up!

Here are all the details about Marabou (Boo for short) the cockatoo that was offered to me as a project bird, and why I decided not to take her even though this is one of my dream species to work hands on with as a project bird.

PS - I left you on kind of a cliff hanger there, any guesses on what my summer project is going to be?! Leave your guesses in the comments!

Marabou is a beautiful name.

Yes, and Jamie just given us a good example about what they taught in their podcast years ago "When to Give Up Your Bird" ( I think that is the title). And also the possibility to see how other trainer train a bird , and learn something from it.

Amazing news! Super excited to follow Boo’s journey through Landen’s eye!!!!! I had a feeling it will go that way. It will give you time to recover and take care of yourself. Enjoy your vacation! Sending you heeling vibes

Please take care.

I hope you’re feeling better. I am glad to hear that Landon did keep her and you can help with constructions as needed.

I love the idea of your students helping with project birds too! It’ll be fun to watch their progress and will extend your ability to help more birds….including species you may not vibe with, or birds who need more 1:1 time or other environments. You have tons of awesome students with uniques skills!

I love the idea of project bird series with other people. It means more birds with difficult backgrounds finding the best care. You and Dave can’t possibly take them all in so this is exciting all around. Thanks for making the best choice for both you and your flock.

I'm happy to hear you are taking it easy! I hope you all enjoyed your trip. It was so fun getting to spend some time with you. Take Care!
