2024-07-02 23:25:52 +0000 UTCHi Jamie. I have a question about your out door summer aviaries. If your flock stay out 24 7 in there aviaries how do you deal with the extra day time light? Do you have to deal with them getting hormonal? My bird room does not have blacked out curtains yet. I have a Amazon thats getting aggressive. He even flew at me the other day. I moved him to the other side of the room so he wasnβt by a window. Just wondering how you deal with it . Thank you π

2024-06-30 03:08:26 +0000 UTCI have a GCC & this will be his first 4th of July. Anything I should look out for or do to prepare for if neighbors are shooting off fireworks? Overall he is a pretty desensitized bird (he's been around super loud cars, helicopters, semi-trucks and other loud noises) but he has never heard fireworks. He is in his sleep cage by 3 pm and lights out by 530 pm so he will most likely be in his cage for the night/sleeping when they start. I do have a camera in the room so that I can check on him. If I do see that he is bothered by them in some way what is the best action to take? Thanks! Melissa

2024-06-09 14:07:54 +0000 UTCHello! I have a 27yo DYHA that has been with me for almost one year. He is responding to training and we are treating every interaction as a training session. He doesn't appear to like having his feathers or head touched at all and has quite a reaction to it. Should I try to desensitize him and get him comfortable with a head scratch or continue to respect him when he tells me "no"? Thanks! Kelly

2024-06-07 00:50:59 +0000 UTCWhat's the best way to introduce a new baby bird to an older bird (Pionus and Senegal)? After quarantine of course!

2024-06-06 16:28:39 +0000 UTCI am racking my brains and searching through content, but I can't find the answer... Have you shown us the aviary or cage that your sun conures are in? What does their set up look like? Would ya/could ya? I can not find any good cages that have the appropriate bar spacing for this size of bird AND are as big as I would like! I know yours are probably housed together, but it is even harder to find a traditional cage for individually housed birds around this size.

2024-06-06 16:18:48 +0000 UTCYes Jinx can see Dave's 'love' colors for Jamie, that's why he wants to protect Jamie from Dave's wild love colors. πππ Sorry couldn't resist!

2024-06-06 16:15:12 +0000 UTCSo I know that parrots see colors differently than we do but do you think they can see our body language or moods just from their special vision?
