The Medium Bird Backpack is Here!!
Added 2024-08-20 16:24:03 +0000 UTCSo excited! We got the medium bird backpack we've been working on in the mail and put it together. It is not the final version but we are getting sooooo close!
Would love all the feedback on this design and any modifications you're hoping to see. Fingers crossed that this pack makes it to market before the end of the year. Ideally, I would love the final version to be able to test on either our late September flight trip or our November one.
I'm currently planning to use this size for my medium birds like Cressi my grey and Bondi my galah. Even though they both fit in the tiny trackpack, this is a more ideal size for them to be comfortable (especially Bondi with her longer reaching tail).
If you're wondering why certain pieces are the way they are and it's not all one solid piece, that's because we know that there are certain pieces that could get chewed and compromised first, and we want you to be able to replace those pieces without having to replace the entire pack like with other backpacks.

2024-09-15 22:59:05 +0000 UTCI do notice that the flap that covers the front of the carrier goes OVER the handle. Is there a way that it won’t do that? The TrackPack allows for you to cover the front of the carrier while also leaving the handle open

2024-09-15 21:25:11 +0000 UTCI definitely would prefer a grate to keep bird and poop as separate as possible. If grate was powder-coating the rattling might not be a problem... OR maybe there could be a sort of snap clip to hold it with the tray

2024-08-21 21:36:26 +0000 UTCThe new dishes (even for future tiny trackpacks) have little nubs on them to be able to push into the holder and stay without a clip. I don’t use the clips on the tiny pack and had actually forgotten about them so I agree they’re not ideal to utilize at all. These new bowls will go into both future designs!

2024-08-20 17:15:42 +0000 UTCWill the bowls attach to the sides or clip onto the perch? I received a single bowl that clips to the perch with the tiny backpack. The clip kind of makes me nervous. I use it and so far haven't had an issue. However, my Hahn's has a very strong beak for his size. I worry that if he put in the effort he'd be able to squeeze the clip enough to pinch himself. I would have preferred something that attached to the sides of the carrier instead.
