This was a super fun consult with McKenna! She had so many of the correct foundations in place so we were really able to get down to business.
We discuss mouthiness in baby birds and explore what might be eliciting a feeding response from her green cheek conure, as well as cage guilt and the need for birds to be independent. We discuss target training as well! (Jamie has a great video on βa hands off approach to training your parrotβ on YouTube on the matter also).
We got to round out the consult with a fun talk about some performance ideas with her conure at her church, and in our final moments she asks me what one thing I wish bird owners knew was..!
All in all this was just so fun to get to chat with McKenna about Twig. Itβs clear how much care and thought she has put into her training. I canβt wait to see where this journey takes both of them!
