Also I wouldn’t worry to much about a dog and birds my dog has never really had any interest in my birds and I have a lab mix. I think you will have a new bff that will love to cuddle with you while you work. I know mine does.

We have 2 Belgium Malinois in addition to our flock of 4 and shockingly, we ALL fit into the cab of our Tundra when going camping! We put our backseats up and put our Malinois into 2 EliteField 3-Door Soft Dog Crates 30" L x 21" W x 24" H behind the front seats. We strap those down then our 2 green cheeks and Pionus go into their own Track-packs, strapped in on top the crates. Sprite (Amazon) goes into the medium prototype pack and sits on the console between the front seats (strapped to the back too)! I bet you could do something similar with Capri in the 1/3 of the back seat, the dog crate on the floor with the 2/3 seat folded up and little birds up top! Our dogs are good at leaving the birds alone while they are caged in the trailer and house but we NEVER EVER have them out at the same time. Malinois are just too fast!! I know you can make it work too! PS. Good call on "poop yard". We have one too with pea gravel and works great!

Congratulations on the puppy! I think a vizsla is a great choice! I know many here in Quebec and they are lovely. I think when you all get acclimated it will be smooth sail! Enjoy the ride!

But the companionship, loyalty, security and love that a dog gives to yall will be such a plus and Capri will have an animal that can totally sleep with her!! Safety and security is another big plus. People see you now and have no problem walking right up to you. When you have a big dog, ppl will hesitate due to worrying about that big dog at your side! Welcome to the canine world of unconditional love that will repeat tricks over and over again on YOUR terms not theirs!

2024-09-11 11:06:56 +0000 UTCI am so excited for you all to get the dog! I know when we got our dog, it was a bit of an adjustment for me with my birds having to be more confined too. I felt totally guilty, but as time has passed, I feel like we have been able to come up with a good balance of when the birds come out and when the dog is out. Also, I would love to see vlogg style videos from freeflight trips.
