I got confused too. The human is Tanta's dad. Gonz is Nao's brother. Tanta called him uncle in episode 1 iirc.

Also at the end with what Theodora was questioning about Ruti they didn't do that in the Light Novel if you'd like me to clear up what she was asking I can.
