Any Hajime no Ippo fans?

Once my schedule returns to normal I will have more time to record. There are about 7 series I'm eyeing for the Spring 2022 season and the Patreon exclusives I started will be continued alongside Black Clover.

I'm thinking about adding 1 other long running series once I make progress on the current backlog and I want to add this next one to YT too. This means I need to consider if it'll do okay on there or not.

Hence me asking if there are any Ippo fans in here. 👀

Ippo is a long burn but it’s a real classic and I know a lot of people would love to see it, myself included

Waluigi

One of my oldest friends favorite anime is Hajime no Ippo and I've been looking for a reason to start watching it for the first time myself. So I'm definitely down :D

Jack Reynolds

I'm definitely up for some Hajime no Ippo!

Chris

I know semblance of sanity reacted to it but i do not know it's numbers but i became there patron just for that one show basicallly

Ippo is like Haikyuu in how it approaches the sport of boxing, you learn as the series progress without any super natural feats of strength. everything feels possible as long as you work hard and train seriously.

Saskatchatoon24

Ippo is in my opinion one of the great sports anime. Really good, and well worth reacting to. A new season has been confirmed, but no release date has been announced, so it might not be for a few years yet. Hopefully if you do react to it by the time it ends we will have a new season in sight.

the remake is not that slow actually, from what i heard the original one is far more slower because it's very thorough, while the remake is more shorter and dense because it leaves some of the least important stuff that was in original and it makes it more approachable for new audience. I wouldn't say it's heavy (the remake at least) and the story is kind of comparable with Attack on Titan in terms of complexity imo

Yeah the original are in that really nostalgic looking 2000s anime art style and i adore the dubs actors, now the s3 and on netflix dub cast is super weird like baki has the deepest voice troy baker does its super odd while yujiro sounds like a Louisiana chain smoking trucker

Charlie baker

Oh damn! That's pretty cool.

Anriku

I'm a huge fan of Rocky. Feel I'll love this.

Anriku

Up there with haikyu for s-tier sports anime, a genre I tend to not like. They are very different though.

Peacefinder Simply

No the old ones, netflix doesn't redo the material it picks up where the older seasons left off in the baki manga

Charlie baker

Remake will takes probably a decade or more to complete, was great until I found out it's far from complete and is being done slowly

Peacefinder Simply

Oh damn! That's always fun!

Anriku

I hear great things about it.

Anriku

Thats fine its not for everyone me and my buddys loved it when we watched it. We as a group binged it over a 3 day weekend

Charlie baker

I love hajime no ippo, would love to see you react to it

Peacefinder Simply

I wonder what would be the right choice. The new ones I'm guessing?

Anriku

Yeah Kenichi doesn't really interest me. I think I saw some of it in the past.

Anriku

And unfortunately like nobody reacts to kenichi

Charlie baker

Baki would do well on youtube,im a big fan of the first 2 seasons and that old school classic dubbing but the netflix seasons are cool too

Charlie baker

That series is pretty heavy isn't it? I don't believe it'd do well on YT but maybe sometime in the future only on Patreon.

Anriku

Not a Ippo fan but if i can recommend something it's Legend of the Galactic Heroes: Die Neue These (it's a remake of the 1990 series Ginga Eiyuu Densetsu (110 episodes)). I was so impressed with remake (i never watch the original one) that i watched the whole 24 episodes in a week and starting to collect the battleships figures xD. Season 3 just came out last week too! It's in my top 5 anime right now
