One of the matters concerning Gauche and even Noelle, the Anime plays into the tropes heavier than the Manga actually does is my understanding. I only started the Manga after the end of the anime, but I have heard others mention this fact that the Anime plays on the Tsundere nature of Noelle too much, she hits him far more often in the Anime compared to the manga. The same is also true for Gauche were they made his sis complex a little too much as well and some of the lines he says in the Anime he doesn't say in the Manga.
