Recue Bots is an odd little series. On paper, it takes place in the same timeline as Prime and RiD, but in practice I'm a bit iffy on that. Rescue Bots was a series aimed at younger kids, so it has a vastly different art style and a much lighter tone. It takes place on a fictional island community called Griffin Rock, so the Rescue Bots were isolated from all of the events of Prime and most of RID, save for the occasional guest spot by Optimus or Bee. The Decepticons never appear in Rescue Bots, so the plot mainly centered around the Rescue Bots and their human allies the Burns Family protecting their community from natural disasters, experiments gone wrong and human criminals; most notably the mad scientist Dr. Thaddeus Morrocco, voiced in Season 1 by the incomparable Tim Curry. Rescue Bots is by no means a bad show, I just think it would've worked better as its own separate universe.
