I saw it in the theater and it was genuinely chilling; everyone gasped at the big twist, it was amazing. M. Night Shyamalan (who played the doctor at the hospital after the dungeon incident) managed to peak his career with 'Sixth Sense', his second movie out of film school. Unfortunately he only made a few decent movies after that and one that everyone hates (The Last Airbender). Of his good films, I'd recommend 'Signs', 'The Village', and 'Unbreakable'. 'The Lady in the Water' is supposed to be good, but I haven't seen it.
