That's the theme of this movie, building a new world. Bruce, Selina, Miranda/Talia and Bane were all trying, deliberately or by necessity, to build a new world by trying to destroy the old one. Bruce was never able to truly get over his parents' death, and he would not be able to get over Rachel's. Yes, Alfred did destroy Bruce's world, but that was necessary for Bruce to be able to build a new one.
