2024-10-04 21:37:59 +0000 UTCAs a Mass Effect fan, I can recognize Seth Green anywhere lol. That whole first episode was just a love letter to Friday the 13th, I love it so much. The shack in the woods where the Creep worshipped the mutagen like how Jason worshipped his mother, his silence and almost teleportation, the potato sack mask from part 2 and then the hockey mask, so cool.

The original VA either quit or got fired 2/3rds of the way through Season 2, so the last few episodes he was voiced by a soundalike. And you didn't notice. ;) Interesting fact about the Season 3 opener. It's loosely inspired by an infamous story arc from the OG Image comics that can never be fully adapted into a cartoon because of BS copywrite nonsense. A 3-part story called The River. Super long story, short version. The Turtles are relaxing on Casey's family farm in Connecticut after their 2nd or 3rd battle with Shredder when a leech from a nearby river bites Raph and his mutant blood turns it into a humanoid leech monster called Bloodsucker. The Bloodsucker goes all 80s Slasher and starts attack people in the woods and eventually it drains enough of the mutagen in Raph's blood to temporarily turn him back into a normal turtle. It gets a little weird at the end when its revealed that Bloodsucker is the servant of an ancient Native American River god who wants to demutate the Turtles because they were born in his river so he feels like he owns them. But overall it's a decent story.
