As annoying and without hope of change as I find drug addicts in my line of work, I wouldn't agree that being conniving and manipulating warrants death. She was a daughter, and she had her shit together for the most part as long as she stayed away form other drug addicts, but then Jesse came along. Jesse brought this upon himself by reintroducing the drugs back into Jane's life, not knowing that she was more hardcore into it, and that they completely twisted her personality in order to satisfy her addiction. Still, it was her choice in that path as well. Even though Walt is not directly responsible for killing her, even though he went too far in not helping when he could to spare Jesse pain, he judged the situation like a scientist, empirically, coldly, denying his own humanity as he cries a bit. The same happened when he killed Krazy8, he flashes back to when Getchen asks him about the human soul, and Walt replies that there is nothing but chemistry here. If she had lived, Jesse would go on in the dark path of heroin and likely overdose too like Walt warned. But Walt had no way of knowing if Jane would ever give up his secrets. The Universe handed Walt a big break and he took it by doing nothing.
