I know this is an older vid, but have complicated feelings on things with rudeus too sometimes. I'm the kind who really fights against sexualizing young people, like when Netflix did cuties. And I don't like adults with kids at all. But I do feel stories should evaluate based on ethics of the world in the story and not our world. So...my stance is all of Rudy's creeping on eris when they were younger is really creepy. And he's punished in story for it, by eris or others. I think the Roxy thing was wrong for the opposite reason. He was a kid and she's an adult. He put her in weird situations that was unfair to her. But he did get better later on. So I do think he was a creep. However, I think his sleeping with eris wasn't too bad. She was an adult and they had a long standing relationship. Even with his mental age, he didn't exploit her. They were equals, in a sense. And I do think his period of suffering now is where many start to really see the change in him. He's a creepy pervert, but he has matured . It's not a story with a squeaky clean mc. It would have been cleaner, morally, if he slowly regained his memories growing up. But the author wanted to tell a birth to death reincarnation story and I respect that.

There's some other things I could point about it being used as a plot device, but I'm honestly tired of going back and forth about this. 😓

2023-07-26 16:51:58 +0000 UTCCompletely fine to joke about it, it is funny and it is kind of weird, it's supposed to be that way, it can be funny and weird and still have meaning and role inside the story. Tough I have to say if you compare it to other religions I don't think it's actually that weird by comparison. E.g. 3 of the holy relics of Christianity are versions of cloth that was allegedly drenched in Jesus sweat, blood and tears. I don't think a pair of panties that you know have actually have been worn by your god are that much weirder than that. It's gone way past just a sexual thing, while it's funny to the viewer, Rudy isn't joking around. He is seriously worshipping Roxy as a goddess and build his own little personal religion around it. Also as seen in Episode 1, when he was slipping into a panic/anxiety attack, they basically take the role of a safety blanky for him, they grounds him and helps him push forward even through his depression and anxiety.

2023-07-25 21:13:48 +0000 UTCI didnt said that both Labyrinths are one and the same but as we saw at the end of this episode that one horny elve from Roxy's group is searching for Rudeus so maybe she's going to tell him about Zenith's location at some point. At least i'm sure that Roxy's wish dreaming will come true in that Labyrinth City with Rudeus being her shining Knight.

2023-07-25 20:19:08 +0000 UTCWell, since it got said and i'm not a light novel reader, in one of the last episodes of season two Roxy did mention that her ideal partner would rescue her out of a labyrinth, with a few other remarks which would match Rudy's profile, as well as that loli demon empress mentioning that Zenith is in a labyrinth sooooo is that all a coincidence? I don't think so 😅 😂
