2024-09-10 10:24:34 +0000 UTCWell Isekai are often times set in medieval like periods and the sad truth is it's a normal part of that type of society, it comes pretty natural to humans in that kind of society. Think about it, even now when we "abolished" slavery, a great achievement for human society, that only counts for a part of the world, there is still slavery out there and even in the part of the world where it's supposedly abolished sometimes it's just hidden under a shallow veil of calling it something else or it's simply driven into the criminal underground but still happening.

2023-08-15 04:02:03 +0000 UTC7:30 this is a really great catch. ive seen it three times so far and you caught on but that's def a symbol of their current relationship. maybe Sylphie likes Rudeus thinking shes the "master" even tho she knows the truth

2023-08-15 03:53:51 +0000 UTCWell he did live in Eris's home full of beastpeople slaves, and also saved beastpeople slaves once. I'd say we already know his thoughts about it >.> But yeah no, I feel you, the whole slave thing is quite overused in isekai..

2023-08-15 00:30:45 +0000 UTCI think in this series we're not necessarily supposed to see it as a moral world. A lot of questionable stuff happens in the series as a whole. It's like the good guys aren't great, they're just... better than the other guys. I do feel they were trying to replicate middle ages Europe in many ways. So you get the wonderful heroics and beauty of things like the Renaissance or whatever, but also the cruelty . Think about how Paul is a cheater and even rapist, but is also treated as having strong moral values too and heroic resolve. There's a lot of that in here.

2023-08-15 00:02:19 +0000 UTCIn the light novel, rudeus feels uncomfortable with the slave market but he also knows he can't stop it by himself. Remember he fought the people trying to abduct the beast girls in s1.
