Toji was happy because his son's name is Fushiguro,not Zen'in.And last few episodes and manga mentioned that Toji became a murder machine——and ''only target to the strongest''.But he chose Megumi not Jugo——we saw Jugo come and burnt down Nanami and others just after Toji left.I don't think Toji didn't sense Jugo is coming but he still chose Megumi to fight.I used to think he recognized Megumi,but this episode shows that he recovered consciousness in the last few seconds.Does that mean Toji thought Megumi was stronger than Jugo or he chose Megumi unconsciously(he is special so he may have memory engraved in his body not brain or soul and make him choose before he realize it)
