Yeah these episodes are kinda filler but they hint the dangers coming by like that one scene you saw the bull clones digging up that mysterious power source (I won't spoil :]) can't wait for you to react the other episodes I know there's one more character your gonna love!!

2023-12-08 00:44:29 +0000 UTCIn the book they had a bunch of other cool stuff, like a fan that shoots fire and a magic rope that even Wukong couldn't break, but for some reason the calabash is the one everyone remembers. Anyway, I can't wait to see you react to the rest of the season, especially episodes 9 and 10.

In the book, they were originally Celestial Spirits who worked as assistants for Lao-tzu (the founder of Taoism) in his alchemical lab. But they got tired of taking orders, stole a bunch of his mystic treasures, including the calabash, fled to earth and were quickly taken in by a lady demon who raised them as her sons and turned them into demons too. They're not very strong or very smart, but they're just tricky enough to cause trouble. Oh, and since you asked, a calabash is a type of gourd. In ancient China, people used them to make containers for things like medicine or alcohol. In the book, the inside of the calabash is basically like a stomach. Anything that stays in there long enough is liquified. Except for Monkey King of course.
