The first Decepticon subgroup revealed in the OG cartoon and the second group of Transformers to have animals as their alt-modes, the first being the Dinobots. The Insecticons in G1 were major badasses. Shrapnel: Master of Electricity, Bombshell: Master of Mind Control, and Kickback: Master of Blackmail. In addition to their individual skills, they also possessed the ability to self replicate into a terrifying swarm that could consume a planet's natural resources in a matter of days. Later versions depicted them as naturally occurring subspecies on Cybertron.
