2024-02-19 18:44:46 +0000 UTCAs you have correctly stated, the Star Saber was a legendary and powerful sword featured in Transformers Armada; part of a set along with the Skyboom Shield and the Requiem Blaster, which when combined formed the Hydra Cannon. Before that, Star Saber was the name of the Autobot leader in the Japanese exclusive series, Transformers Victory. You might've noticed that this Star Saber has no hilt. This is because in this continuity, the Saber was originally owned by Prima, the First of the Original 13, and during the final battle with Unicron the hilt broke off, but was salvaged and later used to create the Matrix of Leadership.

I understand they're not a traditional military organization but he is the leader at the end of the day. Anyone of them could have taken it upon themselves to help Smoke, but it's ultimately the leader's job to make sure it gets done. That's how I view it, at least.
