So I know this is old but interesting fact about this episode. He actually does get a new bey in the manga. But it was storm Pegasus. In the manga he has a like a prototype of Pegasus which he starts off with. I think ryuaga actually destroys that Pegasus. So he climbs the mountain to get it fixed and when he gets there it upgrades to storm Pegasus. But in the anime he starts off with storm Pegasus. So I guess this is a way they included the storyline but without him getting a new bey.
