the fighting part is definitely better than the manga. the manga is heavily criticized for its dull fighting scenes. The anime adaptation really helps it

After watching this a second time i wonder if Serie is an elf who cannot accept change of the order of things she trained Flamme "on a whim" but it looks like she ponders over it when talking to Frieren like deep down she knows that it was more than that but wont accept it. Also i love the different sides to Frieren and Serie being that Frieren is a mage of a peaceful era like Flamme said always having fun and loving the idea of discovering new talents for all while Serie wants to keep it to those who have talent and are earning their right into magic! Overall though as a manga reader this episode was amazing the way they navigate through the past and present is so spot on just deepening the lore and characteristics of everyone. not much else to say besides that this is PEAK

The first spell Frieren used was a "Destructive Lightning Spell" as its called in the Manga.
The second spell when she obliterated the Pillar was "Hells Inferno Magic"
Nonetheless the Fight was really good.. i would even dare to say better than in the Manga ^^
As i mentioned in a earlier Comment, Serie is 100% a women
Btw, back in Episode 21, the Tornado Denken created was "Tornado Conjuration Magic: Waldgose" followed by "Wind to Hellfire Magic: Daosdorg"
The Light Magic was "Light of Judgement Magic: Catastravia"
