That makes sense. I figured it had to have a practical reason as well as being a message. Everything involving Steeljaw has been badass, so far.

2024-04-20 15:36:04 +0000 UTCAs you've observed, without strong leadership from Megatron or Starscream, the Decepticons as they were in Prime are no more. On the new Cybertron, the term Decepticon is now refers to any kind of criminal. As for the claw marks, they have two meanings. First, with the exception of Fracture, the Decepticon insignias were placed on them after they were arrested, to serve as prisoner IDs and tracking devices. Steeljaw slashes them to disable the tracking devices so the Bee Team can't follow their every movement. Second, it serves as a sort of gang sign. It shows that they are not merely Decepticons, but the Pack.
