2023-06-06 18:30:49 +0000 UTCWhat SpiffMan said. (I'm sure nobody needs me to get into some long speech--- about how the MPAA ratings work! :D)

2023-06-06 16:34:11 +0000 UTCBoogie Nights is so much more than a movie about porn. Dasha likes movies with good stories, acting, music, and cinematography. She'll be just fine.

2023-06-06 14:20:58 +0000 UTCI mean--- I don't think 'we' do. :) I didn't request "Debbie Does Dallas"! :D

2023-06-06 00:49:03 +0000 UTC"Coomers"?? :D Dude, I can honestly say I'm not trying to start anything here (to each his own, on cinema taste), but I can also honestly say: I have no idea what that 2nd sentence means. :D Sorry. :D On your 1st, here's what the most celebrated film critic of all time, Roger Ebert, had to say at the end of his (positive, 3-star) review of the movie "Scream": "What did I think about this movie? As a film critic, I liked it. I liked the in-jokes and the self-aware characters. At the same time, I was aware of the incredible level of gore in this film. It is *really* violent." Rest my case: I didn't say that the motion picture "Scream" was bad or "B-rate"--- merely pointed out that, if Paul Thomas Anderson's "Boogie Nights" is porn, then yeah, objectively, "Scream" is what you might call a slaughterhouse. It was also directed by the legendary/infamous Wes Craven, whose first '70s slasher classic "Last House on the Left"--- was literally compared to snuff porn. (Edit: Internet informs me that Craven's debut was in fact originally written *as porn.* :D)

2023-06-05 18:58:59 +0000 UTCWhy?
Chris Carman
2023-06-05 17:59:22 +0000 UTC@J By that metric--- "Scream" is like straight-up snuff cinema...

2023-06-05 17:57:20 +0000 UTCThat is literally what it's about 😂Not to say Dasha wouldn't like it but it would make for one awkward YouTube edit and reaction imo.

2023-06-05 16:32:06 +0000 UTCMay I suggest a future poll on the Marvel movies Dasha has yet to see? Eternals, Love & Thunder, Wakanda Forever, Quantumania, and GOG3. Maybe throw in the two special presentations? GOG Holiday Special and Werewolf by Night.😊

2023-06-04 20:39:20 +0000 UTCBoogie Nights is a no brainer, just the wardrobe, casting and music trumps anything else...
