Great movie, subtly disturbing like most of Fincher's stuff. I really like the scene with Toschi and Graysmith at the diner at the end - where Toschi just lays it down that it's one thing to know you're right, and quite another thing to prove it in a court of law. We also see that Zodiac is quite smart (at least in some ways), but also the cops are hamstrung by a series of systemic screw ups - and even getting the handwriting expert involved ultimately comes back to bite them when it's implied that he's as fallible as the rest of them. Toschi does make a great point at the end as well - that despite the terror that Zodiac spread, ultimately his reputation was far worse than what he actually accomplished - and the police spending more resources to chase dead leads over years and years would have been an irresponsible use of resources. Oh, and "looming"? We use that term to describe when someone stands over you. Usually in context it's intimidating - here obviously Avery is just mocking Graysmith, telling him he's being annoying and to go away.

For those who might be streaming "Zodiac" to watch along with Dasha's reaction video, Showtime Anytime and ParamountPlus, as well as renting or buying the movie on Amazon Prime Video or YouTube, all of these only stream the theatrical version which is 5 minutes shorter at 157 minutes (2 hrs 37 min). The Director's Cut is the only version widely available on Blu-ray disc, as far as I know.
