2024-04-02 03:21:17 +0000 UTCThis movie put Sharon Stone on the map. It was wildly popular. Sharon went on Saturday Night Live and recreated the interrogation scene. The place went crazy! The movie was so successful that the director, Paul Verhoeven, was the toast of Hollywood. Unfortunately, Verhoeven’s next film is generally known as one of the worst movies ever. It’s called Showgirls. It was an NC-17 film. He upped the sex and nudity because he thought that was what the success of Basic Instinct was all about. But he forgot to include a story and decent actors. That said, everyone saw Showgirls. But nobody wanted to admit it. 🤣🤣
