Billing Paused for 30 Days — Here’s Why

Hi all… it’s me again!

Earlier today, I shared a post about the challenges I’ve been facing with my current writing schedule — and at the heart of it is this: I no longer have a backlog of chapters. Without that buffer, I’ve been forced into a cycle of writing each chapter right up against its release date, then rather than continue to the next chapter I am immediately jumping to a completely different story to meet the next deadline. It’s fragmented, it’s stressful, and it’s not how stories should be written. What I really need is the space to stay immersed in a single story for multiple chapters at a time — to let the pacing, tone, and character arcs unfold naturally — instead of constantly switching gears and scrambling to keep up. And to achieve that, I need to build a multiple week backlog of stories/updates.

So after giving it more thought, rather than take the half measure I proposed earlier, I’ve decided to take a step that I think is best for the long-term quality and sustainability of this page:

I’m pausing billing on Patreon for one month, starting today.
Alongside that, I’ll be putting the regular story release schedule on hold for the next 30 days!

💜 What does this mean for you?

✍️ What happens during the pause?

This break gives me time to build a proper story backlog — writing stories in full, flowing chapters, without the constant stop-start pressure of deadlines. It also gives me the space to write more efficiently and creatively, which ultimately means better stories for you.

While regular releases are on hold, I’ll still be here — active, posting, chatting, and sharing some fun little things along the way.
And to thank you for sticking with me, I’ll be releasing two full story updates during this “free” month — one next Friday, and another two weeks later.

I know any change to routine can feel disruptive, but I truly believe this reset will make the stories stronger, the writing better and the overall experience smoother. And ultimately it will lead to long-term sustainability.

If anyone has any concerns or questions, please feel free to message me directly.

Thanks for being here and continuing to support me. 💜

Doing the right thing is always the best route. We'll be here to support you, don't worry! Forcing out creative content is always a detriment for all parties. You made the right call, we'll all benefit from it too!!

Do what you gotta do Kacey. As fanfoot said you have been cranking out a lot of stuff (me too lol) so take time to get yourself sorted, your true fans will still be here.

Thank you all for your support, kind words and understanding. I'm already feeling refreshed and positive about with what this month will be able to bring. xx

Do what you need to. You've been cranking out a lot of stuff. Take care of yourself first.

Sounds like a great plan - will ensure the stories continue to be brilliant, and definitely we don't want you to feel burnt out or under undue pressure, pretty sure that won't result in relaxed, filthy stories! Looking forward to what's next!

Thank you for keeping us informed. Kacey, and thank you for giving yourself time to build a backlog. This space is wonderfully entertaining for your followers, and it's probably not entertaining for you to have frequent deadline pressure. Bravo for giving yourself breathing room!!

Patti

Thank you, your thoughtfulness is very much appreciated. Keep up the great work.

I think this is an excellent decision, Kacey. As a writer, you’ll always get the best out of yourself when you’re not rushing against deadlines. Building up a backlog will make things smoother and ease the pressure, which in turn will let the stories shine even more. It also gives you that flexibility for the weeks when life gets busy, or when a chapter needs a bit more time to feel right. Personally, I’d much rather wait and know you’re writing in the best space for yourself than see you stressed trying to meet dates. We’ll all be here ready for the return ❤️

Your writing schedule was packed! I'm amazed with the output...Definitely a backlog is needed, and you should perhaps consider removing Sundays or making them once or twice a month. Focus on the main stories. Will be here waiting to support you ❤️
