I park the pickup in the driveway and take the long walk up the gravel. My wife walks over to kiss me at the door but upon seeing my dour expression hesitates. My two children run downstairs to see me but their mother tells them to go play. I pop open a miller and sink into a dining room chair.
"How was your day?" she finally asks.
I pause, and I sigh.
"Honey I can't keep doing it. My hands are calloused and my heart is heavy. I'm watching my life pass me by. No matter how many hours I put in... there's always toads that need watchin'."

IQ situation for undergraduate degrees is even more shocking.
In 1960, 45% of the population enrolled in college straight out of high school. Today, 70% enrolls.
In 1960, ~10% of the pop graduated from college. Today 40% does.
Graduation rate went from <25% to almost 60%...
