Regarding "science communicators," there are too many PhDs and too few jobs, so they have to create more fake ones. Even most people on our side would hear “National Academies of Science, Engineering, and Mathematics” and not assume this was a libtard organization employing over 1000 PhDs to write diversity reports and do other activism for the Democrat party. To make matters worse, biotech and pharma were some of the only places that our guys could go to within STEM fields, and those industries have been in a 2 year bear market and are largely not hiring new graduates right now.
As an insider, Bog was spot on with everything he said. Except that there are at least a few of us dissenters left.

To clarify, what’s strange to me is the way people will say it as if they’re dropping you some novel secret you’ve never heard before- people myopically believe what they hear or read online is somewhat exclusive to them- especially their politics

I’ve never been able to shake being a little marxtarded- even to this day- but, in terms of the hick lib thing, I just think it’s funny that the good ol boys podcast has done more to stand behind union workers in a tangible way than any leftist organization I was part of in my early 20s lol They all love that red bandanna story, but literally just can’t cross the line of not being a democrat (for obvious reasons of patronage) and it’s such a weird memetic thing to me. These little stories never mean what they ostensibly mean, and it makes me wonder how much of the actual language used today has been exclusively cooked up in focus group testing. Or do these things have latent potential that gets harnessed? Is it emergent? Probably a little of both, but really most of left wing political discussion boils down to these phrases and stories that get repeated like so, and it’s way more prevalent on the left than the right in my experience. Even now, all my left wing coworkers will whisper these little radical sentiments as if they’re telling a secret, even though no one in the room would bat an eye, and believe me, they do get excited when the dnc says something like this as it becomes “proof” that more radical messaging is “winning.” It’s strange.

and within the next week Trump has already tweaked his messaging to sound more pro-life again on some Florida amendment. He's a good politician and recognizes the importance of keeping his core base happy.

Canadian conservatives don’t talk about abortion because they would lose. It’s that simple. The left would frame the election as a referendum on women’s choice, and if there’s not a clear condemnation by the head of the Conservative Party that convinces white women to hold their nose to save their husband’s paycheque—they would win.
That’s just Reality. Abortion is a one way ticket to 2nd place.
And guess what, if America’s election was held today as a pure referendum on Abortion, conservatives would lose, too.
Run from it, hide from it, Politics is the Art of the Possible.
And you may think that’s not true in your Holy Land, but it is. There’s a reason highly paid, highly trained political operatives in the DNC are trying to make it so.
Building the wall polls better than an abortion ban. Mass deportations poll better than an abortion ban. Situational use of the death penalty polls better than an abortion ban.
You can get a lot of good things done while sidestepping abortion. Or you can lose.

What does it mean to be a marine biologist, and how has it changed over time? My uncle was one in the 70s and 80s, he cut the stomach of thousands of cods and similar fish to examine what they had eaten. His colleagues studied small crustaceans at the bottom of the littoral seas. My mom's friend's daughter's dream was to become a marine biologist, because she thought it meant she would travel the world and pat doplhins and orcas on the head. She quickly got disillusioned once she got to study it in uni, and quit within months. I wonder how many marine biologists used to do that? Nowadays, I deeply suspect you can only do marine biology if your grant money is strongly conditioned on climate change and plastics' pollution..

More fashion tips please! Realtree looks great, I'd love to wear this in Europe, but it looks like it's mostly polyester. Are there other Southern brands with more natural fibers?
