Seeking Asylum (WIP) pg. 1 (Prologue)

Excited to share this little project I've been working on between commissions!

I've done a few drawings based around Asylum of the Daleks before, which is an episode I hold very near and dear to my heart for obvious reasons.  The quality of the episode, however, is none of those reasons.  It leaves a lot of questions unanswered that I haven't stopped being confused about.  Like, why did they turn her into a dalek just to leave her in the asylum where she can do no one any good?  Who decided she was special and needed to be a dalek?  Did the nanogenes somehow make her into a whole dalek, or do they have specialized machines for dalek conversion elsewhere in the asylum for some reason?  Why was she able to resist her conditioning so entirely that she still had a concept of flirting?  I've been working on a little comic that more or less fills in the blanks between what was explained in the episode.  Just for fun.  This page more mostly just the context that was covered in the episode, the rest of the comic will be more visual and dialogue-focused.  

I've wanted to do something like this for a while.  The reason I haven't until now is because I wanted to come up with something that was feasible, interesting, fun to draw, and simple enough to condense into around 30 pages.  Which will still be the longest comic I've ever done.  It'll be a bit slower and darker than most of my comics, with a deeper focus on horror.  There won't be any nudity.  I considered it, but I just don't feel comfortable drawing porn of real people anymore, even if they're an actress portraying a fictional character, so it's something I'm going to avoid for the foreseeable future.  

I'm trying my best to throw it together without overthinking it too much, because I could very easily get bogged down and overwhelm myself.  I'm letting myself get a little self-indulgent.  I don't anticipate a massive audience for this within the TF community because it's a bit niche, so I wanna just have fun with it.  Still, I've already put a lot of heart and a lot of guts into it, and I hope there are a few others who will enjoy it as much as I do!

If you haven't seen Asylum of the Daleks, a few references might go over your head but ultimately it should still make some sense.  I've already spoiled the ending.  If you do want to watch it but don't have access to it anywhere, send me a DM and I should be able to find you something.  But again, it should still be a relatively coherent TF story without the context.

I think that's all I have to say about it for now.  Stay tuned for more updates and ramblings about it.  I tend to get pretty nervous about sharing passion projects like this, especially works in progress, so feedback along the way would mean a lot!
