2020-10-23 01:52:03 +0000 UTCAs a combat sports athlete, one of my favorite parts of the original show was the bending styles, as the movements were based on real martial arts styles which is what made them so fluid and beautiful. As a kid, Avatar was a big inspiration for me and many others to train in martial arts including one of the current best fighters on the planet, UFC middleweight champ Isreal Adesanya, whose nickname "The Last Stylebender" and his incredible fighting style is a direct reference to the show. I laughed so hard I nearly threw up when that group of earth benders did that whole routine to throw that little rock at like 1 mile per hour. What a tragedy, they just didn't care.
