Although I think drugs made him more on edge, I do not think Ragnar killed Yidu because of them. He killed her because she threatened to reveal the most important secret Ragnar has. Ragnar knows that the death of the entire settlement could lose him his power and respect, thus for him to keep his people together he must not let it be known. Honestly it was unthinkably stupid of her to actually believe she could threaten him with that to his face and live. Although it is fucked up I totally get why Ragnar did what he did.
