It wasn't black face. There was one joke about "is this blackface?" which the character clarified he was doing a drow which are underground elves with onyx black skin and white hair, and that was it. Netflix/Hulu did a kneejerk reaction to remove it, which is a shame because it is absolutely one of the best episodes in the whole series.

Now that you're on season 2, I hope you guys are watching Community on Amazon and not Netflix or Hulu. The two later services have removed episode 14 "Advanced Dungeons & Dragons." The reason for the removal was the use of black face. I would like to hear your take on the issue within the context of this episode. But more importantly, it's probably one of the best Community episodes and you both need to see it!.

This show is streets ahead: the perfect blend of absurdity, creativity, hilarity and heart that pushed so many creative boundaries. Dan Harmon gave us something that can make you feel all the emotional spectrum in just 22 minutes. It's also a guaranteed serotonin booster. Great reaction, glad I found this channel!

In regards to lawyers, there may be an inherently dehumanizing competitive aspect where regardless of how guilty you feel a person may be, it's your job to get either the harshest (prosecutor) or most lenient (defense) sentence possible for your portfolio. That being said, i'm friends with several lawyers who are genuinely good folk. I know the stereotype is defense lawyers will put any criminal back on the street but everyone deserves a fair shot in court, especially those wrongly accused. Just my two cents

I like that this answers the question of how does Jeff pay his bills. He's a consultant at his old law firm.

Jeff did pass the bar but he lied about having a degree and was disbarred.
