Just had to comment and say sleep paralysis is a b! The pure terror you get just feeling like something is in the room with you or seeing something that might as well seem like pure evil to you. The brain is such a weird thing.

2022-09-29 22:49:09 +0000 UTCBtw what you are talking about is called "sleep paralysis" it occurs when your body tries to go from deep REM sleep to awake and basically gets stuck somewhere between. It happens especially to people with sleep apnea so get that checked. People see wild, usually horrifying stuff in that state and often equate what they see to the real world. It's actually the generally accepted scientific reason for things like the visions of historical holy men.
