Truth. The fight was one of the most brutal and raw ones I've ever seen on a TV show. Really incredible (and incredibly tense and uncomfortable) scene.

This is easily one of the most important episodes in the show even if its not one of the stand out ones (like Free Churro, etc.) The conversation Diane and Bojack had brought back up important questions that this show has been asking since the start when it comes to personal responsibility and trauma.
I love how Diane even says "You want me to tell you 'you can be better' " which is similar to S1 where Bojack asks if she believes he's a good person deep down. Now Bojack seems to be running from these problems and the pain associated.
When Bojack explains the Boat, Penny & Charlotte situation there's a cut out of PB's character 'Fritz' behind Bojack that says "Don't tell her a thing." Love the subtly and visual storytelling.

Idk about that, I think itβs more likely they donβt want to see their own faults because that means confronting their trauma. Diane seems to struggle with this as well, since sheβs quick to jump on BoJack for being shitty but when someone calls her out for doing bad things she gets all defensive just like he does. They are extremely similar in that regard

Super meta about how bojack could give assholes a free pass. It's because they're too immature to see their own faults

This Diane and PB situation sure is ruff eh? My basic takeaway is that they were both frustrated and hurt and the physical part of their relationship was never a problem. I figure that is a place of comfort for both of them even if it isn't the right thing to do.

That argument between BoJack and Diane is one of my favorite scenes in the show. The restrained anger both of the VAs demonstrated was amazing, and the dialogue was top notch as always. So good
