I rarely like female characters in shows but I like ambers character. I’ve seen really bad female characters and she’s not one of them imo

2021-08-13 19:07:56 +0000 UTCThe writers made her character make no sense with the quad scene AND her knowing that Mark is Invincible. It would have been fine to make her angry about him lying if she knew, or make her angry about him disappearing if she didn't knew; it can still come off as unreasonable but makes sense narratively. Here, it just fells like the Amber/Mark storyline had and goal (the breakup) but each of their scenes was written by a different person and none of them talked to each other.

2021-08-12 04:54:21 +0000 UTCI totally agree. I really enjoyed Ambers character and I feel like I understood her issues with Mark. But after this episode her character was totally ruined or if it was what they were trying to go for from the start there needed to be more indications. The second she reveals she knows Mark is a super hero she immediately becomes huge hypocrite and liar herself. It would be one thing if she was unaware of Marks secret but she knows. She knows he was almost killed and spent weeks in hospital, she knows all the guardians were just murderedand the killer is still out there. Yet in the last episode after she just watched Mark almost get killed trying to protect the college from the cyborg she was still like "You left us Mark, we could've died and you still ran away" even though she knows that was Mark putting his life on the line to save everyone. This episode made it clear, all Amber thinks about is AMBER that's it. We never see any moment where we see Amber actually contemplating what Mark might be going through. And in my opinion the thing that makes fans (like myself) dislike Amber so much is at the start she seemed so cool, she seemed understanding but the reveal in this episode destroys all that.
