2023-01-17 21:11:27 +0000 UTCStefan’s love for his brother is so pure that it genuinely hurts him when Damon goes off the edge because he is losing his brother. I loved his reaction to Damon spiraling, and his conversation with Elena/Katherine afterward because at the end of the day he just wants his brother in his life, whether they are fighting or not, and that’s why Katherine doesn’t deserve Stefan because she spent this whole time with the brothers trying to tear them apart without realizing that that’s the worst thing that could happen to Stefan, she never understood how deep his love for his brother goes, and vice versa. Say what you want about Elena but she understood that, and she never wanted the brothers to fight, ever. I hated watching Damon spiral again but I feel like this time was different because of the way Stefan reacted to it, instead of writing him off, he just became more determined to save him because he realized how much he loved and needed his brother, so while it was a bit of a character regression for Damon it also in a way was a relationship progression for the Salvatore’s which I heavily enjoyed.
