If the girl is a baby when they meet then he will be a brother or a protector but when the girl grows up they become a couple, so its really weird. Also another think they didn't mention is that the wolves don't age either or they age extremely slowly.

Vampirism "freezes" these changes, so female vampires cannot have children. For guys, when it comes to reproduction, it's all about sperm xD so a vampire guy can have children as long as he sleeps with a mortal and she survives sex (this is what Jacob and Edward were worried about). Vampires are super strong and lose control during sex, and if they don't care about their partner, they usually end up dead.

The movies don't show it, but in the books in part 3 one of the wolves imprinted a child and it's explained that he'll be all she needs for now, be her friend, confidante, and when she grows up, they'll be a couple. It's a bit strange, because as if this girl had no choice, but as they explained "why wouldn't she want to be with him if he will be made for her" xD So in general it turns out that for now Jacob will be like a big brother, but when Renesme (or something like that) gets to the right age, he wants to be in a relationship with her xD
