Hey guys! Great reaction! Finally, we got to this episode! I am sorry for the gigantic message I am going to leave here, but there is a lot to comment! So, about this episode, it was kind of a breaking point for this anime. Its popularity went over the charts after this. I didn’t really watch the first season as it came out, but I hear that this episode “broke the internet”, a.k.a, the Crunchyroll’s or funimation’s servers crashed because so many people were watching it. Also, I read somewhere that the author of the manga actually cried when they watched this episode, because it was so well done. The animation, the fight, the music, all of that was amazing. It is my favourite episode of the season. And I think that is why they kind of made it look like a finale. It is not the finale, there are 26 episodes in season 1, but it was the episode with the most impact. About the animation of Tanjiro’s dad dancing, if I am not mistaken, it was rotoscoped. Meaning, they actually used live footage of someone doing that dance and then animate it frame by frame. Also, just a heads up, although the animation here was amazing, season 2 and season 3 (that is airing right now) are even better animated. I am not even joking; it has become ridiculous actually, I don’t know how they are doing it. Regarding their powers, Tanjiro’s Hinokami Kagura replicates the father’s dance (which Tanjiro also learned as a kid), turning it into breathing forms. As for Nezuko, her blood demon art, “Exploding blood” basically turns her blood into fire and then it propagates. Since her blood was already all over the webs, they caught fire easily. About the Twelve Kizuki, I have mentioned before, but I want to explain again, because it is important and will not be explained directly, in sentences. So, in the Twelve Kizuki we have two groups: 6 lower moons and 6 upper moons. In each group, they are numbered from 6 to 1 based on their strength. So, Rui is lower 5, which means he is the second worst of them all. Upper 1 would be the strongest and this does not include Muzan. Muzan is the demon lord, he is above Upper 1. Also, the difference, in terms of power, between the lower ranks and the upper ranks is huge. So, you can look forward to the fights that are yet to come, it will not disappoint! Really loved this episode and am looking forward to the next! Thank you as always!
