Right lol such a terrible storyline for a good character. The actor did what he could with it but I think they could have executed some sort of revenge scheme much better for him.

My favorite Enzo moment ever is when he promised Stefan the lifetime of misery Damon had originally promised him. It does meander a bit with Sara, though.

2023-05-16 21:47:37 +0000 UTCEnzo was brought on to be Damon’s “best friend” in S5 since the rest of the characters hated him and he needed at least one friend, but when they brought Alaric back and then started the Bamon friendship, his relevance became non existent. So this whole storyline was just them pulling a story out of their asses so he has something to do.

2023-05-16 19:11:06 +0000 UTCI disagree. I do think the writers didn’t know how to end this storyline so it does get weird from this point, but the idea had solid roots when it started. Stefan abandoned his brother after only a month of looking for him. This brings up abandonment issues for a man that was subjected to years of torture while being held captive for 80 years. Years he had to wonder what happened to the love of his life and the friend he made there that left him with ever returning for him. This was then amplified when he discovered the secret Stefan was keeping from Damon. A secret that tortured Damon so much he thought his own prison was designed to punish him for. It made perfect sense to me for Enzo to latch onto Stefan for harboring this secret as well as the resentment for abandoning his only friend. It does get weird now that he’s found Sara, though, and as I said, I’m not sure the writers knew where to go with it from here.

2023-05-16 18:19:32 +0000 UTCIt’s so clear this season the writers had no idea what to do with Enzo but wanted to keep him around so they just had him faffing around. They defo ran out of ideas and it is kinda painful to watch😂 I remember the first time I watched this and the music with Liz’s death had me sobbing.
