Yes, Rebekah's dress really was from The Vampire Diaries, that's because there it is 1919 in New Orleans, they ran away that year from Mikael. In 1920 they went to Chicago and met Stefan, even Mikael came there looking for both of them, but Stefan had his memories erased.
