Hey guys! Thanks for the reaction! So, regarding Rui, I know it is difficult to feel sorry for him, but remember that he was only a kid when he got turned into a demon. He was like 10 at most and was a very sick kid who wanted to enjoy life, not spending his entire days on the bed. When Muzan turned him, for him who didn't understand anything about the world, it was a salvation. The moment he gets turned into a demon, he will start craving human flesh as if it is just the nature of it. He killed someone (not in his family) because he needed to eat. Then, the only people he ever actually knew and loved, his parents, tried to kill him. Of course we understand why, but for a 10 year old who just wanted to live, it was a betrayal. Eventually he understood his parents reason, but since it was too late, in order to keep going, he had to believe it was a betrayal. As he grew stronger, he started to simply forget everything (emotionally and even the memories), even if his craving for a family was still there. And so, he started to look for a fake family, to subconsciously fill that void. Also, IT IS NOT THEIR CHOICE TO EAT HUMANS! That is what all demons are created for, for them it is the same as us human beings eating meat. This has been explained by Tamayo (the doctor demon), but usually when a demon doesn't eat a human for a long time, they turn savage completely and kill whoever crosses their path first. I am not going to say that every demon had to be a good human being before. But generally speaking, Muzan takes advantage of humans when they are vulnerable and manipulates them to get what he wants. That is what happened to a lot of them. And remember Nezuko, in the first episode, she did try to eat Tanjiro as soon as she turned. She got "lucky" and broke out of that "state", that Muzan control. But it is an exception. When they become demons, it is simply instinct. Also, Tanjiro always kills the demon. It's not like he would spare them. He just has some sympathy for them, because he knows that it may very well not have been their choice, just like Nezuko didn't ask to be turned. As for why Muzan is turning people into demons, you will find out eventually. Hashira Names that have already been introduced: Gyu Tomioka (the guy you were trying to remember); Shinobu Kocho (the butterfly lady that is a Hashira). The reason why Gyu protects Nezuko, is because 2 year ago, he saw her protect Tanjiro instead of killing him when she got the chance. That was an anomaly, so he knew that she was somehow different.
