I mean technically, Elena convinced Bonnie to do it. She also ran in when the plan was to seal the vamps. Then Bonnie also had to convince grams to open it. If we wanna take it all the way back, Katherine playing Damon is the reason he is looking for her. Or what about stefan pressuring Damon to turn causing him to exist? Who do we blame when its literally everyone? Putting it all on Damon is very disingenuous
