I want to ask you, friends, do we need a squad of Desert Hawks, similar to the rider from the picture? Why am I asking - these handsome guys no longer play on the table (legendary unit), they are not in the codex or in the supplements, and their only value is exclusively collectible (well, maybe someone will need them for narrative games). So I ask you to vote.
About the Janissaries with separate parts. Those will be in the command squad, which will appear in the near future. For those who own the blender3d, I can offer to PM me and I will send you a link to the editable blender file, which you can change as you please.

Everyone who’s made stl files for horses haven’t really captured the poses particularly well. I reckon this may be our chance. Alien steeds or augmented one’s are often the go to choice because everyone knows what a horse looks like and they struggle so just decide to say fuck it, it looks weird because “alien”. That’s why most game art graduates make aliens :)

If it’s too tied into the motion of the pose and strapping etc becomes problematic I totally understand. Just thinking for future tinkering

It would also work well with the Grimdark Future rulesets too! Also seconding wanting to see bikes in the future.

2021-12-16 18:25:53 +0000 UTCEhhh this is a difficult question. On the one hand there's another group of guard that use horses which these would represent very well. On the other you could give them bikes which could be used to represent some more...xenos-minded desert hawks. Or you could forgo both and do something else entirely. Unfortunately I can't really answer this question as I'm neither for nor against it, however I do like bikes/quads a bit more over horses and feel they fit your designs a bit more. Either way more Red Pilgrim models is always a great thing so I look forward to whatever you decide to do next

Also, it seems like GW will be creating an all-plastic Death Korp of Krieg line of miniatures which will include their signature Death Riders cavalry unit. So I think that we will soon see cavalry return to the Astra Militarum.
