I was really worried about not liking this volume due to so many people in the comments being really negative about it.

I think its hated because not much really happens. There's exposition, character backgrounds, world expansion, but nothing really progresses the story. This volume could be summarized in a world of remnant.

2019-09-10 00:19:49 +0000 UTCRen's semblance is the ability to mask negative emotions, essentially making himself, or others, undetectable to the Grimm. It might 'mask' others emotions, but only rid of Ren's negative emotions entirely, which is why Ren becomes brave but Nora is still afraid after the semblance effect fades away. Not sure about that though.

2019-09-09 23:51:55 +0000 UTCI thought volume 4 was decent. 5 is the vol that I didn't like all that much. But vol 6 made up for it. The rwby community split and became pretty toxic starting with this volume though.
