His hair style by the way is called a Pompadour. It's mainly seen in Japanese subculture that's still semi-popular with Japanese Greasers aka Japanese Rockabilly's.

Also Jotaro says he didn't think water type stands couldn't be this powerful but at the start of the second half of part 3, there is a water hand stand that was in the sand. It was very powerful and they would not of won without Iggy. Remeber when Iggy was introduced in a helicopter, the stand that attacked that helicopter is the one I am meaning.
