Was crazy busy last week then traveling, so only just getting to this now. But two episodes to catch up with is a fine Sunday night... I really like this episode personally, because I loved the tension of it. I'm sure such a convention couldn't happen IRL, but you have to admit it's a clever setting, and I enjoyed it. It's true, I guess, that we didn't learn anything, but I don't know - that didn't diminish my enjoyment of it. I liked the tension building, the character growth we start to see in Dream, Rose's increasing power, confirmation that Gilbert is, in fact, Fiddler's Green. Oh, on that note, I don't think it's coincidence at all that he ran into rose. Dream said in a previous episode that the vortex would naturally attract them - that's why he wanted to use her to find them. I think that's what happened. Gilbert was subconsciously attracted to Rose and found his way to her. One note about Stephen Fry - apart from his acting work, recently he's been putting out a series of books of Greek Mythology, and I just HAVE to recommend the audiobook versions. I've listened to the first two, Mythos and Heroes (both read by Fry), and they are an absolute delight. I can't say enough good about them. And now on to episode 10 and the season finale (sort of).
