Yes, the holiday season in general puts everything behind. And then there were the laptop issues. New laptop is procured, and I took off extra days next week to catch up on all the shows. There should be a new episode of Resident Alien by the end of this week. Thank you for your patience!

Hello :-) Are you planning on putting up Part 2 of S2 (then S3)? Do you plan a weekly-ish schedule? I assume darn annoying holidays are getting in the way at the moment :-)

Oh my goodness. Thank you for the offer. Basically my laptop has been crashing and struggling since that last windows update a few weeks ago. The 24zh thing. I rolled it back, but none of the suggestions seem to work consistently. And when I try to download something, it says network issue. I did order a new laptop because it was in my to-do list, but I'm afraid the new laptop will have the same issue. And I want my existing one to still work as a backup. So that's where I'm at. 🤷‍♀️

Way back in the 70s, one of the recurring gags in the long-running, seminal sitcom "The Mary Tyler Moore Show" was that Mary, who entertained frequently, was apparently unable to host a dinner party (or any other kind of party) that did not turn into a hilarious disaster. Over and over again, Mary's parties were legendary for their disastrous, awkward results, despite her best intentions. Watching the birthday party in this episode of Alien Nation reminded me so much of the classic MTM parties that I would almost put money on the idea that some or all of the AN creative team must have taken their inspiration from those tragicomic (I think that's a word) party episodes of 50 years ago, and then turned the awkward up to 11, just for a little extra fun. That was some crazy sh*t right there. And the secrets did fly, didn't they? Wow. Speaking of awkward, and on the more serious side of the coin, I have a feeling that Asta shooting a guy in the woods (in full view of D'Arcy, no less) is not going to be without its repercussions, regardless of the good reason for it, which of course Asta is not at liberty to spill. Or maybe she will, which means you will get your wish, Anna, but this might not be the best way for that to happen. I do take your point about how dragged out the Danger Baby™ subplot was, but once again, I found I didn't mind, because we got all the great character moments for, well, pretty much all the women in this show, as well as more expansion of the alien story line (bewildering though it might be). But I'm really fine with them complicating that story, as long as they give us a few answers now and then. Sure, the answers always come with twice as many new questions, but as I've noted before, the writers of Alien Nation hardly invented that concept. And hey, that's what keeps people coming back, right? Hope everything is OK with your technical issues. For what it's worth, I'm an IT guy IRL, and (if I say so myself) I'm pretty damned good at all kinds of tech stuff (not so much from innate brilliance as from many, many years of experience), so if you still have outstanding issues and have exhausted your usual resources in that area, I would be happy to offer a hand. I'm sure you've got other help and I know what a dicey proposition it can be to take a chance that someone you only vaguely know from the world of social media does not turn out to be a creep or a serial killer or something, so I totally understand if you decline, but I wanted to make the offer anyway. You can DM me if I can be of any help. Or not (no worries or hard feelings in that case, either). Regardless, best holiday wishes to you and yours. And watch out for flesh-eating baby aliens in your punch bowl.
