Black Sails 3x7 | Full Episode Watch Along

XXV

We are back in the ocean as Flint tries to convince the maroons to lend him their men and weapons to lure the new governor into a trap.

But that's not the only person who needs convincing to join the men of the Walrus, and who better to do the talking than the silver tongue.

And Max finds herself in a new position that makes her re-evaluate previous relationships. Haha. The irony.

Are you ready? Let's go!

Such a good episode, Silver gets to be Long and enjoys it, the meeting of Flint and Rogers (yes Toby's face!), Max and Eleanor

Opposite weather here, it's midsummer and I'm drinking a white sangria with peach, lemongrass and elderflower. So good!

I've never read Treasure Island, but am vaguely familiar with the story. I'm waiting until I've finished with Black Sails to read it. I hope you're able to warm up soon!

You're not wrong - I was kinda wondering if this day would come, lol... that's ok, glad you've gotten through the chaos (sounds CRAZY), and I've been keeping up with Lucifer and Arcane over on youtube which have been fun. But glad you're back to the high seas! It is a very cold night in Boston tonight, currently 11 degrees Fahrenheit, so I _should_ be drinking something hot. But I'm actually just drinking a root beer. Maybe I'll go make hot cocoa later... On to the episode - you're so right about the chess game of it all. Personally I love that about the show. So many players, all maneuvering their pieces, and all of them good players. Absolutely fascinating to me. Your reaction to Eleanor's pillow talk with Rogers was so perfect though. I genuinely laughed out loud at the side-eye. Max remains my favorite character, to keep with the chess analogy she's kind of gone from a pawn to a queen, and now she's a genuine player. And her realization of it, and her newfound understanding of Eleanor's actions in that position, I thought was beautifully portrayed. And of course we finally got "Long" John Silver really showing himself for the first time in this episode. That moment with Dufresne has stuck with me for years, since the show first aired. Brutal, effective, and a massive turning point. When I finished this show the first time, I went back and read Treasure Island again, which I hadn't done since 6th or 7th grade. The Silver we get in that book is the one we saw tonight. A completely different person to the one we were introduced to in episode 1. Kudos to the writers on that amazing transformation. As an aside, I enjoyed Treasure Island much more as an adult than I ever did as a kid. I really think that book is (or at least was, that was 40 years ago) taught too early. Anyway, that was fun. Hope it's not quite as long before the next one, but understand that it's really busy right now and it will be whenever it is. Happy holidays!
