Wow, girl. Wow!

aaahhhhh this episoooooode! :D i told you it's probably my favorite of season 2!! And i'm afraid that means I have a lot to say about it 😬 Here we gooo - I love how they don't show us much... we just understand immediately in that first scene that the Sam/Rebecca thing has been going on for some weeks... that's not the waking up shenanigans of people who just met. Also, this is probably the happiest and the most devastated we've seen Rebecca! - Roy's attitude to death is amazing... DEFLEEEEEECT! And then we learn it's cause his grandpa died when he was young. He had already told us that in the first season, throwing his "blankie" into the curse fire and saying his grandpa gave it to him when he left Roy off at 9 in his first football academy and then died before he came back from christmas 😫 That "AVENGE ME, KEELEY!" is amazing ahahah - it cracks me up that the boys' problem with the funeral is just the shoes situation!! ALSO I said the saaaaaame when they came off the bus "HER BOYS ARE HEEERE!" 🥹🥹 - Rebecca's childhood room has a poster of Patrick Swayze on the wall which was an addition from Hannah. It's a little easter egg, cause we (the fans) know it was HER (Hannah's) teenager crush. - Hannah also mentions that scene of Nate giving his condolences as the most difficult (corpsing wise) to film cause Nick Mohamed just cracked her up all the time! - I love that they constantly have Sassy arriving with a bottle of something that she stole somewhere. It happened the first time she appeared in season one and here in the church. And here it was clearly church wine ahaha I have to say I love people misbehaving in churches... that "boss ass bitch! sorry, father" cracks me up every time! - it's ok you didn't cry. I already expected you probably wouldn't, cause your head is already too many steps ahead. You knew the suicide story was coming back and were ready for it. The moment where I always lose it is when Ted say "I wish I would have told him more". When someone dear dies, one often thinks of everything that was left unsaid... specially in situations like these, when you're left feeling you couldn't have done something. it's so heartbreaking and I feel it very deeply. - The editing between the unveiling of Ted and Rebecca's father-related trauma works like a charm for me. I just visualise two young versions of them having their lives and notion of reality altered forever in real time and it hits me... A LOT! - We usually talk about how that situation shaped Ted "positively" cause it made him so kind and considerate, but Rebecca's completely shattered her trust in men. She ended up marrying one just like her father and now meets a kind one and is TERRIFIED! - YESS finally someone immediately got that Rebecca sings Rick Astley for her mother. She's just told her she hates her but it's of course not true and she wants to see her happy. - curious bit of TRIVIA and another example of how much they wanted Hannah to decide stuff for her character this episode (she recorded that eulogy scene on a day that her own father was getting some life threatening heart surgery for hours!): the order in which people join in singing with her was her choice. She suggested is should be the 3 people responsible for her healing so far: Ted should go first cause it's Ted (the one that started making everything better in her life), Keeley (her friend that came into her life exactly when she needed it) and then Sam (a different and kind man from everything she had before that opened that wound she has to deal with now). It's amazing and deeply symbolic! - Sam is smoooooth, I agree!!! "i'm only going to get more wonderful" is perfeeeect! Without that line, that conversation would have ended too solemn... he made it lighter! and yeah, he's smooth - The boss/employee situation here doesn't bother me too much, I have to say. Not because it's them, but because it wasn't on purpose or a power play. If this was/were to be a long term thing, they could be adults about it and find solutions. It is difficult and not ideal... but solutions can be found and taken - When everyone is leaving, and Ted comes to say goodbye to Rebecca and her mum before leaving with Sassy, I like that Rebecca - in the midst of her father dying, having a tough conversation with her mother, asking Sam for a break, etc - still noticed something should be going on with Ted cause he was late and he would never have been late. So she asks him how he is, if something is wrong! - Rebecca's face when her mum asks her if she and Sam are on a break and she answers "how did you know?" is the most heartbreaking and real i've seen in this series so far. it's a glimpse, but it's sublimely done! - Very glad I'm not the only one that had that intrusive thought of "PLEASE LET IT NOT BE A DAD SEX TAPE" ahaha Just to finish, we were in fact rickrolled 3 times (rebecca's childhood room, church and VHS tape)... and we didn't mind it! That's how they get you. :D They make you love them and them you just accept it ahahahah Sorry once mooooore for this long comment. I can't control myself, as you know. Happy new year and, again, thank you for this very needed escapism and company you gave us in 2024 and that I know is so much work for you! :)

I normally watch your episodes on You Tube, because I'm terrible at synching up the video, but this one I wanted to watch here. There's part of a scene in 2x8 that was edited out of your YouTube version, which isn't surprising because a lot of YouTube reactions to this edit it out. During that episode it seems like an irrelevant little piece of information, but it becomes an important part of the conversation between Rebecca, Sassy, Nora, Keeley and Rebecca's mom. It seems like such a small thing at the time that sometimes people forget it when Keeley suddenly realizes it's Sam after the very first question. When Rebecca bumped into Sam at the bar, before they realize they are meeting each other, Rebecca shows Sam her phone and says "Keeley says hi," because she had just texted Keeley and told her that Sam was at the bar waiting for someone. Because Rebecca's mom said that the secret boyfriend was a good secret, Keeley knew it had to be someone unexpected, and suddenly remembered that text.
